This free Church of England School Self-Review Framework is a tool designed to help Church of England schools evaluate how effectively their theologically rooted Christian vision shapes every aspect of school life. It guides reflection and improvement across seven key areas: Christian vision, curriculum and spiritual development, collective worship, culture of dignity and wellbeing, justice and responsibility, and the quality and provision of Religious Education. Each area is assessed at three levels – Developing, Embedded, and Mastery – highlighting progression from basic implementation to a deeply integrated, lived-out expression of Christian faith. The framework emphasises theological depth, inclusivity, spiritual flourishing, courageous advocacy, and educational excellence, aiming to ensure that every pupil and adult can flourish academically, spiritually, and personally within a distinctively Christian ethos.
Schools can use this framework as a standalone paper-based tool, or integrate it into our Flourish Quality Assurance software to record, analyse, and track trends across classes and departments using heat maps and other advanced reporting features.
